 Robert Walker Scholarship

Robert Walker Scholarships in Christian Journalism


Guidelines for a $2,000 Christian Journalism Scholarship are as follows:


1.      Student must have at least a grade point average of 3.5.

2.      Student must submit five copies of all documents.

3.      Must be a student in a college (not high school), undergraduate or graduate.

4.      Previous applicants and winners may reapply.

To apply, send five copies of each of the following:

1.      Letter explaining your interest and commitment to Christian journalism.

2.      Current resume.

3.      Certified transcript of academic work (original plus four copies).

4.      Five different published works.

 
Deadline date for entry is May 1, 2010.

Scholarship checks will be mailed to the colleges and/or universities of the five winners for the 2010-2011 academic year. Please indicate the contact person and address of the college for which the check should be mailed to.

Judges include five distinguished journalists and journalism educators.

Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarships for Academic Studies 2010-2011

The Organization of American States (OAS) is awarding academic scholarships for undergraduate, master and doctorate programs; graduate research might also be eligible if required by a specific academic program. Scholarships are awarded for an initial period of one academic year and may be renewed subsequently up to one additional year.  Candidates must agree to return to reside in the sponsoring country for a period of no less than twenty-four months after completing the program.

Fellowship Research Grants - Earhart Foundation

The Earhart Foundation directs most of its funding to fellowship research grants for individuals at established and highly reputable institutions.  The objective is to fund endeavors of their own in the broad areas of social sciences. Areas of interest include economics, environment, and social and economic policy. Individuals or organizations interested in this foundation should submit a letter requesting the application guidelines. The foundation prefers receiving a letter of inquiry before full proposal.

Heinrich Böll Foundation – Sur Place Scholarship Program

The Heinrich Böll Foundation has opened its Sur Place Scholarship Program to encourage maters studies on Social Sciences in Mexican study centers. Candidates must be residents from El Salvador, Nicaragua and Guatemala, must have work experience in topics related with the master program they want to enroll in, and must have availability to devote themselves to the academic program completely.

The Johns Hopkins University is inviting candidates for its William Zitzmann Visiting Scholar Fellowship in Latin American Studies. The Fellowship is for one semester in residence at Johns Hopkins University. The competition is open to Latin American scholars who work and live in Latin America; who hold a Masters degree or higher in the fields of social sciences, humanities and history; with at least three years university level teaching experience; and fluency in English.

BECAS EN ESPAÑA, FUNDACION CAROLINA 

 

La Fundación Carolina, a través de su Programa de Formación de Becas, fortalece su apuesta por la inversión en capital humano en América Latina



PRESENTACIÓN


El Programa de Formación de la FC tiene como objetivos facilitar y promover la ampliación de estudios de licenciados universitarios así como la especialización y actualización de conocimientos de postgraduados, profesores, investigadores, artistas y profesionales procedentes de América Latina.

 

Para el curso académico 2010-2011, la actividad formativa de la FC se articula a través de cuatro modalidades de becas: becas de postgrado, de doctorado y estancias cortas postdoctorales, de formación permanente y becas institucionales.

 

El número total de becas y ayudas ofertadas en el Programa de Formación correspondiente a la convocatoria 2010-2011 asciende a 1.645, que se desglosan de la siguiente manera: 

 

·      1.092 becas de postgrado

·      248 becas de doctorado y de estancias cortas postdoctorales

·      252 becas de formación permanente

·      53 becas institucionales

 

Fundación Universia y Fundación Carolina colaboran conjuntamente con el fin de fomentar y contribuir a hacer efectivo el principio de igualdad para las personas con discapacidad. A tal fin, Fundación Universia, en colaboración con Fundación Carolina pone en marcha un programa de ayudas complementarias para personas con discapacidad acreditada y que hayan sido beneficiarios de una beca de Fundación Carolina. El funcionamiento de estas ayudas se dará a conocer a los beneficiarios de las becas una vez las mismas hayan sido concedidas.

 

En el mismo sentido, Fundación Carolina Colombia y Fundación Saldarriaga Concha (Colombia) han suscrito un convenio de cooperación educativa con el fin de promover un programa especial de becas para personas colombianas con discapacidad y profesionales que desarrollen su actividad en el campo de la inclusión social de personas con discapacidad y de personas mayores. Para obtener mayor información sobre este acuerdo deberán dirigirse a Fundación Carolina Colombia.

 

Para la convocatoria de becas 2010-2011, la Fundación Carolina mantiene simultáneamente en su oferta programas oficiales, títulos propios de las universidades y programas de especialización, con el objetivo de aunar las necesidades y demandas de América Latina con la propia oferta de educación superior en España.

background in computer science or other
high-technology
fields is helpful but not required.

The Fellowship has two components: a

Description: American Jewish Committee's Goldman
Fellowship Program is designed to develop future leaders
in the areas of international and domestic politics,
diplomacy, public relations, and management. This
competitive Fellowship gives students the unique
opportunity to work in offices domestically and throughout
the world - from New York City to Melbourne, Australia.
Fellows work closely with supervisors in a mentor
relationship with senior AJC personnel to learn about
strategy, advocacy, and the development and
implementation of programming. Fellows may also spend
part of their time developing an independent project with

Becas de Estudio. ALEMANIA

Las becas ofrecidas por la República Federal de Alemania

son generalmente para estudios de postgrado,

quiere decir para estudiantes que ya han realizado unos

estudios universitarios y poseen un título universitario.

Desafortunadamente no hay becas del estado alemán

para estudiar una primera carrera universitaria en

Alemania o para realizar cursos de alemán. La

organización que otorga las becas “oficiales” de Alemania es el DAAD (Servicio Alemán de Intercambio Académico).
