Volunteer Requirements... Does This Sound Like You?
As a volunteer, you'll be part of a Christian ministry dedicated to sharing God's love with the world. And you need to share the same high standards and sense of commitment that our staff has. To qualify, you must be:

  • Able to testify that you hold beliefs similar to those held by MAF-U.S.
  • Comfortable working across denominational lines
  • Willing to make a definite commitment of time consistent with a specific job description
  • Able to demonstrate prior and ongoing commitment to the body of Christ through membership and participation in a local church
  • A supporter of organized mission endeavors, having given of time and/or financial resources in support of their purposes
  • Willing and able to work as a team player

    Administration Positions
  • Assistant Librarian -- Implement computerized cataloging and retrieval system; care for and acquire new books for the MAF library. (Need computer/software system)
  • Mail Clerk -- Help process outgoing mail and duplicate documents
  • Receptionist -- Perform the duties of a receptionist and switchboard operator for the headquarters facility on an "on call' basis to fill in during peak periods and regular receptionist absences
  • Word Processing, Filing, Clerical Assistance
    Maintenance and Special Projects Positions
  • Landscaping -- Assist in day to day care of our facility's landscaping needs including irrigation, mowing, tree and bush trimming and design, edging and weeding
  • Special Landscaping Project -- Design and install hedging and sprinkler system on the east side of main office building
  • Building Maintenance -- Assist in the day to-day-care of our office and apartments in the areas of painting, electrical and plumbing upkeep and general cleaning
  • Vehicle Maintenance -- Assist in the ongoing maintenance of our vehicles by conducting oil changes, lubrication, general maintenance and normal washing and care
  • Special RV Site Preparation Project -- Design and establish an on-site location where motor homes and RVs can park and have the required hook-ups.
    Hangar Volunteer Positions
    MAF's full-time Hangar Volunteer Coordinator will assign projects to match your experience with hangar priorities. Any block of time from a few hours to a few weeks (to a few months!) is appreciated.
  • Aircraft Mechanic
    • Tasks: Routine maintenance of training aircraft; modification of overseas- bound aircraft
    • Qualifications: A&P License, Recent light plane experience
  • Aircraft Sheet Metal Fabricator
    • Tasks: Making and assembling sheet metal parts used in MAF modification kits
    • Qualifications: Experience with sheet metal cutting and forming equipment, drilling, and riveting
  • Hangar Handyman
    • Tasks: General maintenance, repair, and building of shop equipment
    • Qualifications: Hand and power tool skills, Helpful if experienced in plumbing, electrical, construction, welding, and machining
    Development Office Positions
  • Tour Guides -- Lead tours of Headquarters offices and hangar
  • Photo Librarian -- Catalog and retrieve photographic materials, maintain computerized records, generate reports
  • Special Events Assistant -- Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing special events; locate, purchase and ship materials
