KENYA MISSIONS, EL SALVADOR

In Kenya, an estimated of 1.78 million children are orphans, 11% of children are under 15 years, there is a mortality rate of 77/1000 live births. Likewise there are 1.2 million infected with HIV/AIDS, of whom many are children who were infected during birth. Many children who are orphaned are in extreme poverty.

The ministry “Misiones Kenia, El Salvador, developed the project “seeding to the Eternity”, with since 2009 has been operating in two places where a big needs in Nairobi has. The first place is Kibera, this is a very poor and with so much needs, the project worked with Little Rock Institution, The activities that the project has there was: Skill development, art, craft, school support to student  and consoling that was with children of 3 to 12 year and also parent.

The second place is Mitumba Community, that is a place that does not have a support of government institutions, but they have a school that was donated from some NGO, some years ago, but they still have many needs in this place. The work here was to attended classes for children 3-15 years, and the areas that we work were: skill development through sport, discipleship.

The ministry has already made a visit to this place in 2009 and is currently working to implement the second phase of development in this project, in the period from December 2010 to February 2011, and for the visit is necessary 5000 dollars, which cover: the travel, lodging, transportation, and expenditures to material to craft and art.

The objectives of that visit:

·         Follow up the project

·         Created new strategies that help establish the ministry in Kenya.

·         Inspire lives and discipleship through skills development, creative activities, counseling, sports programs, clubs, and care of infants.

·         The leaders training in Kenya, could who to give monitor to the  project

 

Among the goals of the trip include:

·         Share the gospel of Christ, strategic ways with children and young people so that they learn through experience and could have a new lifestyle.

·         To help in the programs that the institutions are working

·         Raise awareness in sexuality area, abuse prevention and human rights.

·         Open new opportunities to establish the Kenya Ministry.

For the development of the second visit the ministry intends to use the following strategies:

·         The application of the methods of Social Work.

·         Interventions by cases to individual and group.

·         The workshop in art and crafts.

·         Using the program “Kids games”.

·         Camp

·         Withdrawals

·         The program “Channels of Hope” World Vision program of HIV/AIDS.

·         Orientation sexuality, dating and self esteem.

·         And above all share the message of Jesus Christ through building relationship and discipleship.

·         Training leaders.

 

The project beneficiaries:

The Project beneficiaries will be children, young people and parents that involved in the various institutions where the program could be implementing, which approximately 500 children between 3-15 years are.
